Your photo library, without the copies.
WhatsApp saves, double imports, twelve shots of the same sunset. DiskDrop finds them across your whole library, shows how similar each one is, and lets you keep the best.
What it finds
- Copies: the same photo saved more than once, even resized, recompressed or with a different date.
- Similar shots: bursts and repeated shots taken minutes apart, each with a similarity score.
- Videos too: copies and similar clips, compared by cover frame and length.
- Where the space goes: your library sorted by size, with collections for videos, big files, screenshots, screen recordings and unpicked burst shots.
- Blurry or dark shots: found by measuring sharpness and brightness. Check them first: a soft or night shot can end up here on purpose.
Compress big videos
Choose the videos you want to shrink, and DiskDrop re-encodes them in HEVC at the same resolution, keeping date, location and favorite. Videos that wouldn't shrink by at least 20% stay as they are. Albums aren't carried over.
Private and careful
- Analyzed on your Mac. Nothing is uploaded, and there's no account.
- You confirm in Photos. Deletions go through Apple's Photos app and stay in Recently Deleted for 30 days.
- Favorites are safe. "Select all" skips them.
- It suggests, you decide. It proposes the favorite, then the highest resolution, and you can change any choice.
FAQ
Does it work with iCloud Photos?+
Yes. Deleted photos are removed from your other devices too, and stay in Recently Deleted for 30 days. Compressing a video stored in iCloud downloads the original first.
Is it accurate?+
Each match has a score, so you can check the doubtful ones. If it misses copies or groups different photos, you can calibrate it with a few examples from your library.
